Reiki is an energy healing technique that promotes relaxation, reduces stress and anxiety through gentle touch. Patient lies on the massage table face up and fully clothed. A blanket is placed on top and sometimes a heating pad below to promote relaxation and comfort. Reiki practitioners use their hands to deliver energy to your body, improving the flow and balance of your energy to support healing. Kat works directly with chakras and joints to help remove energetic blocks. The outcome is a release of emotional blocks and access to inner guidance to move forward on your path of purpose. Incense is used to smudge the room prior and after the session. Each session lasts approx. 45 mins on the table with a 10-15 min conversation prior to align the patient and healer energetically and bring to light any current issues or struggles. Patient is welcome to speak during session and always encouraged to give feed back or directions about any discomforts or needs. Mikao Usui developed reiki in the early 1900s, deriving the term from the Japanese words rei, meaning “universal,” and ki, which refers to the vital life force energy that flows through all living things. Now, reiki is used all over the world, including in hospitals and hospices, to complement other forms of health treatments.
